Road to Cabins has been Cleared
Late Wednesday (June 1) afternoon the paved road was cleared of snow from The Dinkey Creek Inn all the way past Honeymoon pool. Although I did not check all of the dirt roads leading to the cabins, most appeared relatively free of snow. I am able to drive right up to our cabin. Dinkey Creek Summer is now officially underway.

From Bo McPherson (Sunday May 22nd, 2011)
Just came down from Dinkey power is on I started the process of turning on the water, yes now thanks to the State there is a processes, hopefully should have it on by late Friday, you may have to walk in but the power and water should be on. Road is still covered from my cabin up, spotty most every where else.

USFS logging update for Dinkey cabins:
From: Keith Ballard, the USFS District Timber Mgmt officer
The contract was awarded earlier this month (March) to Sierra Forest Products (sawmill in Terra Bella, CA). Their contract does not allow for work to be performed between Memorial Day and Labor Day in the recreational portions of the project (cabins and campgrounds), so these late snows will likely push the start date to after Labor Day for those areas. The first phase includes road improvements, followed by tree harvesting. Even tho work probably won't commence around the cabins/campgrounds, I expect some impacts from the work being done in the South and Western portions of the project.. perhaps only a little more dust.
